Negligent Security? 14-year-old Landon Chance Poston Found Dead Inside InTown Suites Extended Stay in Greenville, SC

Poston had been dead for over a week—since November 14

Local news reports that Landon Chance Poston, a teenager, was found dead in a hotel room at the Intown Suite Extended Stay on Wade Hampton Blvd in Greenville, South Carolina. The cause of death is still unknown, and an autopsy was scheduled for November 22. Police are still investigating the incident.

Unfortunately, the Intown Suites is no stranger to violence. According to publicly available google reviews, the hotel is known for drug activity, violence, and deplorable living conditions.

How to Prevent Violence at Motels and Hotels?

Legal contributor Attorney Brian Mickelsen, an experienced crime victim lawyer, represents crime victims and gunshot victims injured or killed in shootings, stabbings, and assaults at hotels, motels, and other commercial properties.

“Motels or hotels can be hot spots for crime, and the out-of-town guests staying there often have no idea what they are walking into. I always encourage guests to read the reviews. Poor lighting conditions and loitering are key signs that danger may be near. The hospitality industry is responsible to its guests to provide a clean and safe environment. This is best achieved with adequate lighting, cameras, and security patrols.”
