Jan. 10, 2023 – Student is Fighting for Her Life – Shooting at The 444 Suites in Atlanta, Georgia

Clark University Student was Shot Outside 444 Suites Student Housing Apartments

Fox 5 Atlanta reports that on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, around 11 p.m., a shooting took place in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. A young woman was shot at 444 Highland Avenue at the 444 Suites Apartments, a Clark University student housing complex. It is believed that there was an argument that ensued that led to the shooting. The victim is in critical condition. The suspect has not been identified at this time. Atlanta Police Department is still investigating the incident.

Old Fourth Ward is not a stranger to violence. In fact, in 2022, there was a shooting in March, August, and October. Violence in Atlanta has surged in 2022. Concerned residents are beginning to think Atlanta is becoming a hotbed for criminal activity and violence. Some residents have compared it to the city of Chicago. Residents agree that something needs to be done and it needs to be done expeditiously.

Who Can Be Held Responsible For Violence At Apartment Complexes?

Legal contributor Attorney Brian Mickelsen, an experienced crime victim lawyer, represents crime victims and gunshot victims injured or killed in shootings, stabbings, and assaults at apartment complexes and commercial properties.

“Properties, like 444 Suites, that have extensive histories of violence coupled with mold and bug infestations are nuisances to the community. They are crime-attractors and put everyone living and working there in danger. Apartment complexes must be kept safe from foreseeable criminal attacks and potential hazards. There was a college athlete who was crushed by the elevator at 444 Suites back in October of 2021. This is a perfect example of what happens when an apartment doesn’t take the necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its residents and guests.”
