South Carolina Hit With Numerous Restaurant and Gas Station Shootings

Numerous shootings at restaurants and gas stations have made headlines in South Carolina over the past few days and weeks. Although there seems to have been a surge in violent altercations during the holiday season, these incidents are sadly nothing new. Gun crime continues to be a major issue going into 2025, and many residents feel that their local restaurants and gas stations are no longer safe. What can you do if you were shot at a local fast-food restaurant? What if you lost a loved one to one of these shootings? Can a negligent security lawyer in Charleston help you pursue compensation?

Greenville ushered in the New Year with predictable levels of violence, and one of these altercations occurred at a gas station. The incident occurred within the first few hours of 2025, and it left one person dead. The 36-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital before succumbing to his wounds. Can I Sue After a Gas Station or Restaurant Shooting?
With so many restaurant and gas station shootings, business owners should take reasonable steps to improve their security. If they fail in this regard, they may become liable for future injuries or deaths on their properties. If you were injured in one of these incidents and you believe the property owner should have done more to protect you, you might be right. This breach of duty can result in a negligent security lawsuit – and you could be eligible to pursue compensation for your injuries.
